Office Installation Choices

Both office suites offer (or will offer) the choice of a local or network install. Local installs avoid the problems of network-based shared folders, but they also require a lot more space on your local hard drive. (488 MB local vs. 205 MB network for WordPerfect Office; 240 MB vs. 60 MB for Microsoft Office.)

Disk Space Used on the Server

In Windows, here's how to find out how much disk space you're using on your H: disk on the server:

  1. Double click on My Computer
  2. Double click the H: disk icon
  3. Select Edit -> Select All.
  4. Right click on any highlighted icon.
  5. Select Properties from the right-click menu.
