Reports-Aligning and Resizing Objects

In the Access 2000 Introduction Seminar, we learned how to use the Report Wizard to generate reports. For example, the report shown below was generated from a query, in columnar form, Compact style, and sorted by date with no grouping levels.

Changes can be made to this report by going into the design view of the report. For example, if particular fields should be narrowed, you can click on the individual fields or labels in the design view and use the resize handles to narrow them. You can also move objects by clicking and dragging them. <Click here> to see a video demonstration of both. (404K)

You can also align objects in the report by using the alignment buttons. (left, center, or right) For example, we will align the Date and Quantity columns so the data and labels are centered. Here is the result.
