Access 2000 Introduction


 

Queries-Multiple Table

Queries in Access can draw their data from several different tables. This is primarily done to create a query that gives more information, rather than making large tables. You can use the Add Table button to bring tables into your query.

In order to query several tables at the same time, the tables must be LINKED by a field that tables have in common. If two tables have the exact same field name in them, Access will link them together automatically. (Obviously, these should contain the same type of data.) If you wish to link them yourself, simply drag the field of one table onto the corresponding field in the other table. <Click here> to see a video demonstration of tables being added and linked in a query.
