Fireworks Environment
The toolbox provides you with many of the tools needed for editing and creating images within Fireworks. The tools are broken down into sections: Select, Bitmap, Vector, Web, Colors and View. Each section has specific tools to achieve a certain function.
The Select section allows you to select images/objects, select portions of an image / object, scale objects or crop your image.
The Bitmap section allows you to easily work with images in the bitmap mode. There are selection tools here such as the Marquee tool, Lasso and Magic Wand which allow you to select portions of a bitmap image. Other tools are located here such as the paintbrush, erasor, stamp and fill tools.
The Vector section allows you to work easily with vector images. Vector based objects can be created with the line tool, the pen tool, the rectangle tool and the text tool.
The Web section allows you to create hot spots and slices which allow for interactivity on the Web by adding information to your buttons so they perform as you desire.
The Colors section allows you to easily choose / change your stroke (outline) color and your fill color of any given object.
The View section allows you to zoom in and pan around an object while you are zoomed in.
Shown above is the layers panel, along with the other panels in Fireworks, allow you to work more efficiently by keeping images separated, and repeating actions. There are many panels in Fireworks which allow you to easily modify and tweek your images.
