Although
there are set template backgrounds in PowerPoint 2000, you
can make changes to alter the coloring scheme for them. You
can make individual changes, or you can adopt a new color
scheme. There are two areas where you can make changes: the
scheme and the background.
Slide
Color Scheme
If you
to to the Format|Slide Color Scheme menu, you get several
different schemes that you can choose from.

You can
accept any of the suggested schemes shown. It can be applied
to individual slides or the entire presentation. You can also
click on the Custom tab at the top and make individual changes.

Click
on any of the different color sections and change the color
as you desire. Once again, you can make the changes for an
individual slide or they can affect the entire presenation.
Slide
Background
You can
also change just the background color without going into the
scheme. The Format|Background menu lets you choose the type
of color you want.
