For added effect, you can animate text or graphics that are in your slide show, transitioning in as you wish and adding sounds. You can right-click on the item in question and choose Custom Animation.

You choose the entry animation and sound that you wish. You can enter the text all at once, by word, or by letter. Under the Order & Timing Tab, you can set the animation to start on a mouse-click or automatically following the previous event, including a delay time you choose.
