AutoShapes
AutoShapes
are a tremendous timesaver when it comes to adding images
into your PowerPoint presenation. There are different categories
of shapes already created, such as lines, banners, basic shapes,
connectors, and flowcharts. Clicking on the AutoShapes button
brings up these categories.

| As
an example, we'll draw a couple of Basic Shapes. Here
are the Basic Shapes. |
 |
We'll
start with the cube AutoShape (2nd one in the fourth row)
To use
the AutoShape, click on the button desired, then click-and-drag
the AutoShape on your slide. (NOTE: like the ClipArt and imported
pictures, you can hold down [SHIFT] to keep the shape proportional
and [CTRL] to draw it about its center) Here is the cube in
a slide.

The teal
color was chosen as part of the color scheme for this background.
If you wish to change the color, select the image and choose
the Fill Color button in the Drawing toolbar.
The arrow will let you select different colors and even create
custom colors.
Note the
yellow diamond at the upper-left side of the cube. The yellow
diamond appears on three-dimensional shapes to control the
depth of the image. Here's what happens when the diamond is
used to reduce the depth of the image.

The cube
maintains its height and width, but the depth of it is reduced.
If you
have an AutoShape selected, you can add text to it just by
typing. We'll add some text to this image.
