Transferring
Files Using
Macromedia Dreamweaver
As stated
in the Software section, the different Web authoring programs
have the capability to transfer your Web pages from your local
drive to the Web server. To
complete this process in Macromedia Dreamweaver, you should
open the Site Files Window by selecting it in the Window menu
or hitting [F5] on your keyboard.

To get
started, go to the Site|New Site menu.
 |
You
can also click the drop-down arrow next to the name of
the current site and choose Define Sites. |
The first
screen you will see asks you to give the site a name and define
the local directory.

Next,
click on the Web Server Info category at the left. Choose
FTP for server access. You must then put in the FTP host (tigger.cc.uic.edu
or icarus.cc.uic.edu), the host directory (the pictures below
represent the directories for a personal site, department
site, and class site, respectively.) You also add your netid
and password.

Once you
have set up your site, you then tranfer files back and forth
by simply dragging them. <Click
