Creating a Web Document with Word 2000

If you know you'll be creating a document specifically for use on the WWW, you can create one from scratch. The File|New command has several templates available for use, including some under the Web Pages tab.

Each of the 7 templates listed can give you a good Web page to work with. However, if you wish to have more control over how your document is designed, you can use the Web Page Wizard. The steps of the Wizard are listed below. (Click on the thumbnail image to see the full picture.)

Step 1 Introduces you to the Web Page Wizard.
Step 2 asks you to give a name to the Web site and in what folder should all files be placed.
In Step 3, you can choose the type of layout you wish for the site. You can use framed layouts or use separate pages, which is the recommended method today.
In Step 4, you can add other pages to the site. You can even add template files if you so desire.
Once you have the files you need for the site, Step 5 lets you set the order of the pages.
In Step 6, you can choose a design for the Web pages by clicking on the Browse Themes button. <Click here to see the themes box.> After this, you click on Finish.

Here is a sample page.
