Tables

Borders and Shading

We can make formatting changes to the table in several ways. Perhaps the easiest way is with Table AutoFormat from the Table menu.

This dialog box allows you to choose from different formats and allows you to pick and choose what gets formatted. We will choose the Colorful 2 format. Here is the result.

Another option is to use the Borders and Shading option under the Format menu. You can highlight whatever row or column you want, even multiple ones or the entire table.

You can apply different types of borders, colors, and thickness to a single cell, row, column, or full tables. The Shading tab allows you to color the background of the cells. As an example, we'll recolor the top row of the table to be orange. Here is the result.
