Tabs
Setting Tabs
There
are four types of tabs available in Word 2000.
LEFT
TAB - this is the standard tab where the paragraph will
align itself with the tab on the left side
RIGHT TAB - this tab sits to the right of the
text, with the text flowing left
CENTER TAB - this tab sits in the center, with
the text flowing even to either side of it
DECIMAL TAB - this tab allows you to align
columns of numbers along the decimal point
The ruler
will display tabs that are set, if any.

The button
at the far left side (looks like an L) determines the type
of tab, as shown above. To set a tab, click the Tab button
to select the type of tab desired, then click on the ruler
at the point where you want the tab. (You can also do this
from the Format|Tabs... menu.)

For this
example, we will use the following section of text.

These tabs are currently aligned using the default tabs at
0.5" along the ruler. We will insert right tabs at 2",
3", and 4". We click on the Tab button at the left
side of the ruler two times to make the right tab. Then, we
click on the ruler at those three locations. Here is the result.
