Format
Painter
Suppose that
you have one piece of text with several attribute and font changes.
If you want to use those same attributes on another piece of text,
you can copy the formats rather than choosing them one by one. In
Word, it is called the Format Painter To use it, select the
text that contains the formats you need, invoke the Format Painter,
then click-and-drag over the text that you want to have those formats.
Note that the format copying turns off instantly in Word. If you
wish to copy the format(s) to more than one location, double-click
the Format Painter button to lock it in the "on" position. You must
then click it to turn it off when you're done.

Here is the
result after we highlight the first sentence, click the Format Painte
button, and then highlight the second sentence. <Click
here> for a video demonstration. (203K)
