Cut,
Copy and Paste

One of the biggest
reasons word processors became popular was their ability to take
entire sections of text and move them to different locations, something
typewriters cannot do. Word 2000 has several means by which you
can move a paragraph (or a copy of it) to another location.
To execute cut
and paste:
- Select the
text you wish to cut
- Click on
the Cut button
- Click the
insertion point where you want the text to go
- Click on
the Paste button
To execute copy
and paste:
- Select the
text you wish to copy
- Click on
the Copy button
- Click the
insertion point where you want the text to go
- Click on
the Paste button
Besides the
buttons on the Standard toolbar, you can use [CTRL]+[X] for cut,
[CTRL]+[C] for copy, and [CTRL]+[V] for paste. These options also
come up if you right-click the selected text, and they appear under
the Edit menu.
Word 2000 also
has a new feature: the Office Clipboard. Unlike the Clipboard used
in other programs, the Office Clipboard can store up to 12 items
on it. When you're ready to paste, you simply click the button of
the item you want.
