About the SML
The SML is a new specialized multimedia authoring lab, specifically designed for students.
The SML provides in-depth student consulting services for Web design and development, Web 2.0 tools and technology, Blackboard student support, video/audio editing and multimedia production, comprehensive desktop software support, collaborative learning technology, social networking,
mobile computing, and support for Web-based and multimedia-based class-related projects.
In addition, the SML will lend out to students: multimedia authoring, media capture and presentation equipment that might be useful to students to complete multimedia-rich class projects.

Where to find us
SML-East (East campus)
- Walk-in Hours Monday through Thursday, 1-5pm, SML-East
- Stop by the new SML-East without an appointment during SML-East Walk-in Hours, Monday through Thursday afternoons. During SML Walk-in Hours, resources are available on a first-come/first-serve basis.
- Location Room LIB 1-460, East campus
- The new SML-East is located on the first floor of the Richard J. Daley Library, in room LIB 1-460, north/west.
ITL-East (East campus)
- Walk-in Hours Monday through Thursday, 1-5pm, ITL-East
- Drop in the ITL-East without an appointment during ITL-East Walk-in Hours, Monday through Thursday afternoons. During ITL Walk-in Hours, resources are available on a first-come/first-serve basis.
- Location Room LIB 1-460, East campus
- The new ITL-East is located on the first floor of the Richard J. Daley Library, in room LIB 1-460, north/west.
ITL-West (West campus)
- Walk-in Hours Mondays and Thursdays, 1-5pm, ITL-West
- Drop in the ITL-West without an appointment during ITL-West Walk-in Hours, Monday and Thursday afternoons. During ITL Walk-in Hours, resources are available on a first-come/first-serve basis.
- Location Room 181 BGRC, West campus.
- The ITL-West is located at the ACCC main offices in the Benjamin Goldberg Research Center (BGRC), on the West campus. BGRC is a three-story red-brick building located at 1940 West Taylor Street (northeast corner of Taylor and Damen). The ITL-West is on the first floor, to your left, in room BGRC 181. The campus shuttle bus stops one block East of BGRC, on Taylor and Wolcott.
The Student Media Lab and Instructional Technology Labs are operated by the Academic Computing and Communications Center (ACCC).
