To create an alternate personality in Eudora, see the instructions in Qualcomm's
Qualcomm's tutorials, which are complete with animated screen shots!
As an example, here's a real life example. I answer the email that's sent
to the ACCC's acccwebstaff@uic.edu address.
Here is how I have the alternate personality that I use to send responses to
those messages set up.
The items given in italic in this table are specific to my account;
substitute values appropriate for your situation.

| Personality Name: |
ACCC Web Staff |
The personality name is the name that Eudora calls the personality.
The real name is the name that's used in composed email. They don't have
to be the same. In fact, usually they aren't. |

It doesn't much matter what incoming email address I use
for this personality; it's not really about incoming email. So I set my
tigger account with ACCC Web staff as its name and return address. That
way I kill two birds with one stone. I get the ACCC Web Staff return address
and I also get a judygs@tigger.uic.edu account to take care of the tons
of spam I get there. |

Click on the arrow to the right to select a signature
and/or stationary. I have a different signature for this personality.
(Stationary is perfect for form letters!) If it's just for sending email
when you're using a different ISP, then you will probably want to use your
usual stationary and signature. |
| Default Signature: |
| Check Mail: |
(1) If this personality is for a different email account than
the one you normally use -- if it has a different LoginName and incoming
Server -- and if you want to always check for mail that comes into it,
then check Check Mail for this personality.
(2) If the personality is for the same email account that you normally
use -- your usual LoginName and incoming Server -- don't check Check
Mail for this personality except when you're actually using this
personality. (Otherwise, you'll download two copies of each incoming
message!)

The Qualcomm examples only create POP personalities. This is what you need
for IMAP personalities.
