American Mathematical Society August 1990 In this directory (/ams) you will find subdirectories for each of the major subdivisions of the Society's TeX archive. Specifically, you will find subdirectories for AMS-TeX 2.0 (/ams/amstex), AMSFonts 2.0 (/ams/amsfonts) AMS-LaTeX 1.0 (/ams/amslatex), the AMSFonts TFM files (/ams/tfm-files), and information for AMS authors (/ams/author-info). The /author-info area contains two subareas: /guidelines and /sty-files. The /guidelines area contains the TeX source files for the AMS-TeX and AMS-LaTeX ``Guidelines for Preparing Electronic Manuscripts''. The /sty-files area contains style files (AMS-TeX and AMS-LaTeX) for AMS publications. Additionally, in the /ams area you will also find compressed tar files for each of these subdirectories of /ams, with the exception of /ams/amsfonts which is where the AMSFonts 2.0 distribution is located. If your host machine utilizes the Unix operating system, you can use these files for easy retrieval of an entire TeX product. For example, if you would like to obtain AMS-LaTeX 1.0, you can just transfer the file /ams/amslatex.tar.Z to your machine. You would then have to decompress and use the tar utility to restore the AMS-LaTeX files to your local machine. If you experience any problems with the files found in the AMS archive, or have trouble with the archive in any way, you can reach the AMS's Technical Support Group at: (800) 321-4AMS (321-4267) ext. 4080 (401) 455-4080 or through electronic mail at Internet: tech-support@math.ams.com
