     "David Fuchs lives" idiosyncrasy when DVI files are uploaded via

   + The LaTeX formats (lplain.fmt and lplain.fmb) were rebuilt using
     the FMi&RS new font selection scheme, but this time, newlfont.sty
     was used instead of basefont.tex for xxxlfont.sty so that the LaTeX
     symbol fonts (and some the LaTeX symbols) are defined with the new
     font selection mechanism. [Basefont.tex defaults to NFSS but does not
     define the LaTeX fonts and symbols].
   + Previous versions of the formats and their logs are saved with the
     -OLD suffix.

   + Removed last two lines of the BOOK STY file, there was a
     extraneous character that caused an error when LaTeXing a file
     using this style file.  The old version is saved in BOOK STY-OLD.
