Note: New February, 2008: Support for Vista in native client and support for sync with iPhone with Outlook Connector. Both with caveats.
  • Be sure to review any readme.html files that are packaged in with the installation materials some clients before starting. Some clients offer additional readme information upon client startup.
  • Further information can be found in the readme notes files below

Mac users: If the download files don't download when you double-click on the download links, control-click on the download links and select Download Linked File As or something similar (each Mac browser words it a bit differently).

Plus PDA and mobile phone users, including Blackberry, should consider using Oracle Mobile Data Sync for syncing with UICalendar. It works quite well if your phone or PDA is supported.

iPhone users: The new version of Oracle Outlook Connector supports iPhone sync with iTunes, on Windows, the only Oracle Calendar sync that works so far with iPhones. Right, so they say. I tried it with the only version of Oracle Outlook Connector and the only version of iTunes that Apple says works, and I tried all the tricks that Apple and everyone else suggested. I think I was on the right track, because I did actually get syncs to start working, but they all crashed, every one. I think it's because I upgraded my iPhone to 1.1.4 firmware. I don't think this is a good way of doing things. See ACCC services and the iPhone for a way that works. (The sync works easily; the synced data is not complete.)

New February 20, 2008: Version 10.1.2.4 supports Windows Vista. However: "This release does not support the following actions for the address book: publishing, retrieving, backup, and restoring. If you are upgrading from a previous version of the Oracle Calendar desktop client for Windows and prefer to keep these abilities, Oracle recommends that you do not upgrade to this release."

Oracle Calendar Connector for Outlook

Note added April, 2008: We have finally fixed the problem with using the netid to login to Outlook Connector, and, according to Oracle, it will also fix the problems we've all been having with Outlook Connector being unstable. Now you can -- and should -- change Outlook Connector to login using your netid as you do in all other UICal clients.

New February 12, 2008:
download version Outlook Connector 10.1.3.0.9

see readme notes for which versions of Windows and Outlook this works for (not at this time Outlook 2007*)

Also supports iPhone sync, so they say. In my test, no such luck.

Sync PDAs and Cell Phones wirelessly via the Web; see Oracle Calendar Mobile Data Sync.

*Outlook Connector 10.1.3.0.9 does not work with Outlook 2007. Someone claimed to have gotten Outlook 2007 to work with Outlook Connector 10.1.3.0.6 by putzing with versions of DLLs. According to the University of Wisconsin at Madison, the official Oracle response is that they will have a compatible version by December, 2007. Which has now come and gone, without any results.
