Using Email from Anywhere with IMAP and Eudora/WebMail

You can read your mail from many different places if you use IMAP with a client like Eudora or Webmail to access the email on your icarus, mailserv, or tigger account.

What is IMAP?

IMAP is a protocol that allows you to read your mail from a server without necessarily downloading it.

IMAP downloads e-mail headers first, and messages and attachments only when you request them (when you click on them).

IMAP is available to use with icarus, mailserv, and tigger.

How do I use IMAP?

If you use Pine to read mail on icarus or tigger, you are already using IMAP. However, you can also use Eudora and Webmail with IMAP and most other email programs also.
