  1. CONTRACTOR INSTALLED CROSS CONNECTIONS


    1. Use UIC Telecommunications supplied forms to record this information.


    2. All cross-connects shall be installed per the UIC standard.


    3. The contractor will supply and use a minimum of category 3 single pair blue/white cross-connect wire for all of the following cross-connections:


      1. All cross-connect routing must be cleared with the UIC ACCC Telecommunications Assignment Desk.


      2. A copy of the completed routing sheets must be given to:


        1. UIC ACCC Telecommunications Assignment Desk.


        2. UIC ACCC TED.


        3. UIC ACCC Installation.


        4. The UIC Project Manager.


      3. Pair one and two of each voice information outlet will be cross-connected to spare F-3 pairs in the riser cables.


      4. The F-3 riser cable pairs will then be cross-connected to spare F-2 campus distribution cable pairs.


      5. The final copper pair testing by the contractor will be from the Node F-2 BIX terminal through cross-connections to every voice information outlet.


    4. Cross-connection wire to be used by the Contractor if required must follow the following color coding:


      1. Blue / white for voice circuits.


      2. Orange / white for data circuits.


      3. Green / white for emergency telephone circuits (ETS).


      4. Brown / white for security, entry phone and card reader circuits for the electric shop.


      5. Slate / white for time clock circuits.


      6. Red / white for fire alarm circuits.
