- RECORDS
- The Electrical Contractor shall submit to the UIC Telecommunications
Engineering & Design a complete set of as-built drawings. These
drawings shall show every detail of the construction upon completion of
the project.
- Cable records shall be submitted to UIC Telecommunications Engineering
& Design and shall include complete and accurate documentation showing
every splice and cross-connection by cable number and pair, as well as the
information outlet numbers and location. The records must conform to the
cable numbering system established by the UIC Telecommunications
Department. A copy of these records shall also be supplied to the UIC
Commit operators and the Installation Section.
- With the supervision of UIC Telecommunications Engineering &
Design representative, the contractor shall test every pair in every cable
installed end-to-end after splicing and terminating is completed. Maximum
allowable defective pairs will be limited to one percent of the total
number of pairs in any cable, and a maximum of two pairs in a twenty five
pair binder group.
- The contractor shall prepare and submit to UIC Telecommunications
Engineering & Design cable distribution "as-built" drawings which
reflect the following:
- Exact route of all outside plant cabling from the NODE to the IDF,
including underground conduits and tunnel routes. Included shall be a
detailed cross-section drawing of all conduits encased in concrete with
all dimensions, reinforcements, and sill.
- Cable size, count, gauge, and length of all cables
installed.
- Every splice by cable number and pair count.
- The cable numbering system shall conform to the existing University
numbering system.
- 20.5 Contractor shall prepare and submit "as-built" floor plan
drawings which reflect:
- Building entry, IDF, FDF, cable tray, raceway, and information outlet
locations.
- Corrected risers, conduit sizes, splice locations, cable counts,
terminals, and patch panels.
- Label each drawing "AS-BUILT" in neat, large printed letters. Markings
must be legible and with permanent ink. Water based ink shall not be used
due to easy smearing. These drawings will also be submitted in Auto-CAD 12
(or later) on 3.5" disks.
- The Communications Contractor shall provide the University with field
corrected floor plan drawings prior to acceptance of the work by the
University.
- The Communications Contractor shall provide the University with all
testing documentation prior to the University acceptance of the
work.
- Hard copy of all test results shall be submitted in three ring
binders, unless the tests themselves are provided on 3.5" disks ( see Testing ).
