How to Read Your Telephone Bill

Date and Time

The date and time the bill was created will appear on the upper right hand corner of the bill. The billing cycle goes from the sixteenth to the fifteenth of each month. Within a few days of the end of that cycle, the actual bill will be created and it is that creation date that you will see in this section.

FOPAL and Telecom identifiers

FOPAL and Telecom identifiers represent the FOPAL codes for the Vice Chancellor and academic/administrative unit, the college department, the AU number and the contact person who recieves the bill.

The Inv/Phone number is what Telecom uses to identify the source of the charges. This number represents either a phone number, a circuit number, or to the authorization card reference number. To the right of this number is any identifier given to ACCC-Telecommunications to indicate the user of the number.

Monthly Recurring Charges

Monthly recurring charges represent the basic package for the use and type of line that you have. Included in these charges are items such as line service, voice mail, emergency phone surcharges, the telephone set, etc. These charges recur each month and only change when you request a change to your set or service.

Call Detail

Telecom has divided all calls made from the phone or authorization card into groupings for local, long distance, international and operator assisted calls. Each of these groupings will list the calls in the order of their date and time. The number called, its location, and the duration and cost of the call will also be indicated.

Nonrecurring charges

Nonrecurring charges are charges related to services provided by Telecom. These charges are generated by service order requests, time and material charges to complete service orders, chargeable repair costs, miscellaneous adjustments, and videoconferencing sessions.

Grand totals

Grand totals are the amounts for all chages and reflect what will be passed to the BANNER system for this account.
