Meet-Me Conference - Making a conference Call with Centrex
With this service, conferees call a reserved conference telephone number at a pre-arranged time These conference numbers have the capability of handling 6 to 30 conferees.

To have a successful conference call, please follow these steps:

1. The person setting up the conference call (the originator) should call Operator Services at 312-413-8200.

Be prepared to give the operator your name, the phone number, date of the conference call, start and end time of the conference call and the number of parties that will be on the call.

2. The operator will record this information and reserve a conference line for you.

3. The originator must call the other conferees and give them the reserved conference number.

4. Prior to the scheduled time: The originator should dial into the reserved conference number (works best from an on-campus phone) at least two minutes before the scheduled time.

This will open the line for the other conferees. The line will continuously ring until one of the other conferees dials in. As each conferee dials in, a tone is heard. When all conferees are on line, the conference can begin.

NOTE:
Pressing the switchhook or transfer button will lock the call (privacy). The line can not be transferred to another location. Once the call is locked, no one else can dial in; if a conferee is disconnected, the conferee will be unable to get back in (busy signal). All parties must hang up and redial.

Lines reserved for 6 conferees can hold only six (including the originator). The seventh person will get a busy signal. Be sure to reserve the required line.

Charges - No cost if made from a campus phone. Off campus calls are billed by the caller's local phone company.
