Dec 18 2003 - Thursday December 18, from 10AM to 4PM, the ADSM network backup system will be down for operating system software updates. Though you will be unable to either back up or restore during that time, all previously backed up data will be safe and will be available for restore after the work is completed.

| Borg is GOING AWAY!!!! | ||

Dec 18 2003 - The borg machine will be decommissioned soon. On January 15, 2004, logins will no longer be permitted. FTP will be available for an additional month to permit clients to download their files. In the middle of February, the borg machine will be turned off. |

| Switch replaced for partt of the 128.248.155.0 network | ||

Dec 11 2003 - At roughtly 2:50 P.M., until about 3:30 P.M. this afternoon, we replaced an important network switch that serves an part of the 128.248.155.0 network, effecting access to services on the Tigger, Icarus, WWW.UIC.EDU and other machines. This was an emergency maintanence. We believe the problem has be resoved. We apologize for any inconvinence this partial service outage may have caused. |

Dec 05 2003 - The MAILSERV email server will be down for system maintanence tonight (Saturday morning, 11/6) from 12:01AM until 2AM. |

| UICalendar problems Tues 2:30pm | ||

Dec 02 2003 - The server experienced problems from 2:30-3:15 pm due to running low on "swap space". It was necessary to run a database consistency check, which took around 20 minutes, in order to bring the server up. We'll be looking into making more swap space available. We regret any inconveniences caused by the outage. |
