Problem with www.uic.edu web servers

Oct 09 2006 - We're again experiencing an SSL (encryption) related problem with the www.uic.edu servers that kills performance. We've temporarily disabled SSL while we study the issue. This means that some "https" encrypted sessions (like those requiring bluestem authentication) will not funtion.

In some cases, you may be able to alter your "https://www.uic.edu" URL to use "https://tigger.uic.edu" as a workaround.

www servers fixed for now

Oct 05 2006 - The SSL libraries have been patched, and so far seem to be working.

Partial MAILSERV outage 9:pm--10pm

Oct 03 2006 - The boot disk is going bad on one of the 10 mailserv backend servers. We'll be taking that server down from 9pm until 10pm tonight to replace the disk. Some mailserv users, who have their maildrop on this particular backend, will not be able to access mail for the duration. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.
