Editing PDF Documents

PDF is a format for output and review, not a source format intended for editing. Thus you can only do minor changes in it, such as:

  • re-typing some text with the touchup-text-tool icon
  • change font face, size, color for (part of) a line of text
  • delete or move graphics or text blocks with the touchup-object-tool icon
  • insert a new line of text: Ctrl-click with the touchup-text-tool

For all major editing, you should go back to the original source document and afterwards re-create the PDF output.

With Acrobat 6, you can convert your PDF back to MS Office .doc format. If the PDF was made via PDFmaker, this will even apply text-editing changes suggested by reviewers via PDF comments (if desired).
