Obtaining Acrobat

  1. For departmental on-campus networked computers your best deal is ACCC Server Services, which for $7/month brings you loads of useful software.
  2. The Adobe CLP (Contractual License Program) is the best deal for departments wanting to buy the software. Get 2-3 CDs for $24 each (so you have some backup), and licenses at $36 (Pro) / $24 (Std) each. You can also buy documentation and upgrade/maintenance subscriptions.
  3. Urbana Central Stores sells Acrobat 6 boxed to individuals for $126 (Pro) and $84 (Std).
  4. UIC MicroStation and bookstore tend to charge a little more, but still have low academic pricing, currently $149 (Pro) and $99 (Std.) at MicroStation.
  5. Acrobat 6 is installed in the ACCC Public Labs. Use it there to create, annotate, or edit PDFs if you don't have access to the program yourself.
