Server Services for Res-Net | |||||||||||
| ACCC-Server Services Introduction | |||||||||||
|
For a small monthly fee, ACCC-Server Services enables users with network connections to access the ACCC servers and the software that is available in the public computing labs. In addition, access to Server Services gives you access to your home space on the servers (H: drive) that you can also access from the public computing labs, minimizing the need to carry diskettes around.

| Sharing Software | |||||||||||
|
Sharing software means that one computer with ACCC-Server Services can run programs located on other computers or servers. This allows someone using ACCC-Server Services to use the programs located on the UIC Computer Center's servers. Instead of constantly purchasing, installing and upgrading new software, students can simply "rent" programs such as WordPerfect. Since we purchase and update the licenses for the software, we also support it through the Client Services Office. ACCC-Server Services will also save you disk space - since most of the software is running from the server, it requires only a small amount of disk space on your hard drive; the programs themselves are stored on and run from our servers. You can view a complete
up-to-date list and description of software available with ACCC-Server Services
