PostScript to PDF converter
This functionality will be made available to the UIC community in July 1999.
Convert
your PostScript files to PDF format on the fly with our Acrobat Distiller 3
web-interface! Simply print-to-file on your PC, upload the resulting PostScript
file with this form, choose
among the available options, and have an Acrobat PDF file returned in exchange.
Note: to generate a PostScript file on a PC, you need to have a PostScript
printer driver installed (the Mac always uses PostScript for printing). Here
are the steps for setting this up in Windows 95/98/NT:
- Go to Start > Settings > Printers and launch the Add Printer
Wizard.
- Choose to create a local printer.
- Select the Apple Laserwriter. You will need the Windows CD-Rom.
- Among the available ports, select the FILE: port.
- Do not make this your default printer.
- Do not print a test page.
- Name the new printer PostScript.
- Now you can simply select this printer in any application.
You will be prompted for a filename and location.
- The resulting file can then be converted to PDF via Distiller
