Opening up HTML Files in Word and Printing PDF Files

If you work with web pages, you can open them up into Microsoft Word 97. The Open dialog box, by default, is set to show all file types.

As an example, we will open THIS web page in Microsoft Word.

You can then edit and modify this page like any other page in Word.

PDF (Portable Document Format)

.PDF files are important in the world of computers, especially the Internet, for an important reason: these files can be transferred and shared by everyone, regardless of the operating system they use. Also, PDF files retain their original formatting when opened up by another user. If you have the Adobe Acrobat PDFWriter progam, Microsoft Word can convert its own documents to PDF format. This way, they can be read by programs such as the Adobe Acrobat Reader, which is free to all users. It's also a part of UIC's Network Services Kit.

To print the file to PDF format, simply choose the File|Print command.

Choosing the Acrobat PDFWriter will allow the file to be outputted to PDF format. The icon will look similar to this.
