Using Styles in Word 97

When you work in Microsoft Word, you often need to format different parts of your document to meet specifications. For example, you may always make report titles centered, Arial font, 18 point size, and bolded. Rather than doing each of those every single time, you can save those in one location. This location is called a STYLE. You can then bring up that style any time you want to format a title or any other section of text.

Styles are generally broken up into two categories: paragraph styles and font styles. Paragraph styles include indents, line spacing, paragraph alignment, and so on. Font styles are sizes, colors, bold, italic, and underline. In this section, we will discuss the following topics:
