Toolbars in Netscape Composer

The toolbars in Netscape Composer has new innovations, but is basically the same as typical toolbars from Microsoft Word or Corel WordPerfect.  It has two basic components, the Composition toolbar and the Formatting toolbar.

The Composition toolbar is made up of functions that can be found under the File, Edit and Insert pulldown menus, and offers basic control over the main HTML functions.  The Formatting toolbar deals specifically with text and paragraph style and format.

• All main HTML functions
  • New document, open document, save document
  • Preview button for launching edited page in Netscape Communicator
  • Copy, Paste and Print functions
  • Buttons for adding HTML objects like images, tables, links and horizontal rules
  • Spell checking

• Very similar to popular word processors:
  • Pull down menu with type styles (headings, list items, etc)
  • Ability to select a particular font (not 100% reliable on other browsers)
  • Actual type sizes like word processor
  • Type styling (color, bold)
  • Paragraph styling (bullet lists, indenting)
