Graphic Animations

Like text, animations can also be used on ClipArt images, charts, tables, and imported graphics.

Slides 6 and 7 have videos in them. Slide 6 shows fireworks, and Slide 7 shows a congratulatory handshake. As it stands right now, these two videos do not activate unless we click on the video before the 5 seconds is up. We can custom animate each of these so the videos start up automatically or when we pass the mouse over them. However, these are in two different locations.

To start the video automatically, we use the same principle as we did for the bulleted list: we choose Slide Show|Custom Animation.

In this instance, we chose to animate Media 2 and have it start automatically 2 seconds after the previous event. As a default, the computer will pause the slide show while the video is playing. This is located under the Play Settings tab.

If we wish to have the computer start the video when we pass the mouse over it, we can select the video in the slide and choose Action Settings from the Slide Show menu.

As a default, the video will play when you click on it during the slide show. Now we will also have the computer play the video when the mouse moves over it in the slide show. To do this, we click on the Object Action option in the dialog box. This dialog box is also great for hyperlinking to a hidden slide or even a site on the World Wide Web.

When we do this, we can now see the two people shaking hands.
