Help System

Searching through the help system is similar in nature to searching for help in Windows 95. The three main sections of Help are:

• Contents: A listing of topics available in the help system for that program. Each topic could contain documentation or sub-topics
• Index: Users can type in the item they need help on, and the computer matches it to a series of topics
• Find: Users can type in a word or several words. The Find command then looks for those words referenced anywhere within the Help system

Besides the standard help system, PowerPoint has an item called the Office Assistant. When you click on the Office Assistant, it will prompt you to type in a question in your own words. The Office Assistant will then find the items in the Help system closest to the question you asked. It will also alert you to alternative methods or shortcuts for working in PowerPoint.
