Text Animations

Slide 3 of this presentation has a long list of items. It may be easier to read if the bulleted points came in one-by-one. This is simple to arrange with the Text Preset Animation button on the Sorter toolbar. To do a simple animation, we can click on Slide 3 and choose an animation from the list.

Notice the new icon below the slide. It shows that there is an animation for the text. Unlike the transistion icon, however, clicking on it will not show the animation. This gives a very simple animation of 1 bullet coming in at a time. If a bullet has subtext, the subtext enters with the bullet. To do a more complicated animation, double-click on the slide to display it in Slide View. Then, use the Custom Animation option in the Slide Show menu.

In this example, since there is only a bulleted list, we can go directly to the Chart Effects tab.

We can change the entry animation for each bullet point and even introduce the text one word or one letter at a time. However, the important change here will be to group by 2nd level paragraphs instead of 1st. That way, each sub-bullet in section 3 will come in on their own. (NOTE: Since the bullets come in fast, we turned off the automatic timing for Slide 3) Here is a quick shot of Slide 3 during the slide show.
