A couple of new features make typing and formatting text simpler. AutoFit text, graphical bullets, and numbered lists are designed to better organize your presentations when they require a lot of text.
The AutoText feature is especially useful if you are typing in a lot of text onto one partiular slide. Take note of the following screen shot done in Normal View in PowerPoint. Note the font size of 32 at the top.

When we add another bulleted item to the list, check the newer font size.

The font size is now down by one level to 28 point.
The ability to create different types of bullets in PowerPoint now better mirrors the same abilities that have been in Microsoft Word for several versions. You can use any character you so desire for the bullets. You choose the type of font you want under the Format|Bullets and Numbering menu.

Amazingly, this is the first version of PowerPoint to fully utilize numbered lists. Previous version of PowerPoint, at best, allowed only a listing of numbers with no options at all. The Format|Bullets and Numbering menu now allow for greater flexibility for numbering lists, similar again to Microsoft Word. (though not nearly as powerful)
