Saving
Presentations as HTML
One of the biggest changes
to PowerPoint 2000 involves how you save your presentations to use on the Web.
The File|Save as Web Page... menu will help you set up your presentation.
Although there is no Wizard
for saving your presentations, you have greater control over how files are saved.
Take a look at the above picture for reference.
- Publish What? - You can
choose any or all of the slides to publish the presentation, including displaying
any speaker notes. Note the Web Options button in this section. This allows
you to make adjustments to the presentation, which will be discussed in the
next section.
- Browser Support - You
can adjust the support based on the Web browser your audience might be using.
As UIC is a primarily Netscape campus, the recommendation is to use the second
option: "Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator 3.0 or later."
The third option, "All browsers listed above," contains a dual-HTML
feature that selects the correct browser for you, avoiding the need for determining
the audience. However, this creates a much larger file.
- Publish a Copy As - This
allows you to change the title of the presentation, which would show up in
the title bar of your browser. You can also choose the name of the file and
its location
