Perl for Beginners  [New]

Perl "makes easy things easy and hard things possible". It's a wonderful scripting language for writing small, quick-and-dirty programs for text processing or batch process control. Although it started on UNIX, perl runs on Windows, Mac, and other machines. We'll examine the basics, with enough of a tour to give you an idea of what perl can do. If you've done a little programming before, particularly in C, sed, awk, or sh, you're ready for perl. PREREQUISTE: some programming experience; lecture only.
