Introduction to the Academic Computing and Communications Center (ACCC)

The Academic Computing and Communications Center (ACCC), formerly known as the Academic Computer Center, or ADN, for short, is the main provider of network and computer services for teaching, learning and research at UIC. With a few exceptions, all services are offered at no charge to the UIC community.

The most important services and resources of interest to students are:

  • Computer accounts for use in personal computer labs and on UNIX systems
  • Electronic mail and Internet access
  • Public computer labs deployed throughout campus
  • Site-licensed software sales and support
  • Internet access on campus and via modems through ACCC Dial-up servers
  • ACCC Computer Seminar Series
  • General consulting on all facets of computer and network technology

  • Client Services Office (CSO)
    The CSO is ACCC's consultants' desk, serving as the front-line to answer any questions or help resolve any problems.

    Every semester, ACCC offers computer seminars on a variety of  topics. These seminars are free-of-charge to all UIC students, faculty, and staff.

  • INFORM Documentation
    ACCC's comprehensive documentation system, comprising hundreds of online documents designed to help users on a wide variety of topics.
