Using the WWW in the Classroom

Benefits of Using the World Wide Web

  1. The Web offers a wealth of information

  2. A home page can be a store front to the campus and beyond

  3. HTML documents are portable
A source document on one server can be viewed by lots of users running browsers on Windows, Macintosh, Unix, OS/2, CMS, and so on.

  4. Web documents can be viewed on campus, at home, and around the world

  5. HTML and the Web can be used as a dynamic presentation tool

  6. The Web is nonintrusive

  7. Browsers make it easy to use and navigate the Web

  8. Publishing hypermedia with HTML is very easy

  9. Writing interactive Web pages (i.e. forms) is not terribly hard either (see the seminar evaluation form)
