Hands-on Image Editing

Editing an image:

1. Colors>Increase Color Depth - set to 16 million (RGB Color)

2. Cropping
   • Pick the selection tool - for selecting individual areas of an image that will be altered

   • draw a box just around the area that you want to preserve

   • Image>Crop - takes away information outside of the selection

3. Resizing
   • Image>Resize
     • Under Custom Size enter 444 x 500 [click OK]

4. Image Quality
   • Image>Normal Filters>Soften - blurring effect
     helps to even out images when they are pixelated or "bumpy" looking

   • Colors>Adjust>Brightness and Contrast - changes the brightness and contrast of an image

   • Image>Resize
     • Under Custom Size enter 200 x 225 [click OK]

5. File>Save As - name your file and choose GIF as the file type
