Michael started his career in
Colorado
where he attended the
University
of
Northern Colorado
in
Greeley
. While completing his Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Music Education degrees, he performed with groups such as the Denver Brass and the Denver Municipal Band Brass Quintet.
Michael came to
Chicago
in 1997 to complete his Master of Music at
Northwestern
University
. Since that time, he has played with numerous groups including the Horizon Brass Quintet, the Chamber Brass Players Quintet, the Chicagoland Pops, the Lake Forest Symphony, and is the founding member of the B.S. Brass Band, Chicago's New Orleans style Brass Band.
In addition to his teaching at
University
of
Illinois
at
Chicago,
Michael also teaches music at
Northwestern
University
and
Northeastern
Illinois
University
. Michael maintains a busy schedule as a brass clinician throughout
Colorado
and in the
Chicago
area.
