Woodwinds, The UIC Concert Band, Music Fundamentals for Non-Majors ![]() Originally from Detroit MIchigan, Nick Moran is an active woodwind performer on saxophones, clarinets, flute and bassoon. After studying classical music performance and philosopy at Western Michigan University Nick moved to Chicago in 1997. He has performed with the Elgin Symphony, Rockford Symphony, Illinois Philharmonic, Kalamazoo Symphony, Macomb Symphony and has been a member of over fifty pit orchestras. He has performed with the Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Jimmy Dorsey, Lawrence Welk, and Nelson Riddle orchestras as well as having performed with: Lou Rawls, Aretha Franklin, Mel Torme, James Moody, Snooky Young, Joey DeFrancesco, Ray Anderson, Phil Woods, Houston Pearson, The Temptations, Jimmy Heath, The O'Jays, Bob Berg and Wayne Newton. Nick Moran is currently finishing work on a practicing method book for saxophone.
