General Information
The UIC Choirs, directed by Dr. Michael J. Anderson, assisted by Ms. Ivana Bukvich, Mr. Andrew Lewis, and student conductor Becky Reid, is an organization comprised of five choirs that study a wide variety of repertoire and perform numerous concerts each academic year.
Each ensemble has a different skill level and musical focus. All are open to UIC students through voice screening.
Recent performances include Mozart's Requiem with the Acanthus Chamber Orchestra; Beethoven's Ninth Symphony with the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra at Orchestra Hall; Ellington's Sacred Concerts with the UIC Jazz Ensemble at The Harold Washington Library; and the exciting opportunity to perform the New York premiere of David Fanshawe's African Sanctus in Carnegie Hall.
