UIC Concert Band

| This is a 60-70 member symphonic wind ensemble. Repertory includes standard band and wind ensemble, new works, and occasional transcriptions and pops fare. Directed by Prof. Randy Brion, it rehearses Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3-5 p.m. The ensemble is open, by audition, to woodwind, brass and percussion players from any college or department. Qualified alumni may participate as well.
Students take Concert Band as Mus151 and receive one hour credit per semester. Students may register for band first and then schedule an audition. Programs include four on-campus concerts a year, master classes with guest artists, and occasional guest appearances as local conventions and high schools. Tuition waiver assistance is available for exceptionally qualified players.

UIC Pep Band
This 16-member group performs at all home basketball games of the UIC Flames. Students in this ensemble receive one hour credit for Mus156. Members must also be full-time members for the UIC Concert Band. Twelve players receive tuition waivers.
Rehearsals: Thursdays, 5-6:30 p.m., from late September to early December. Season ends in early March.
