One of the great advantages of the World Wide Web is the rapidly expanding database of images available to anyone with a fast network connection. Scholars, alone and in consortia, have begun scanning and making available their research; museums have begun creating cybernetic incarnations of themselves, so that a viewer in Chicago or Fargo can wander the Uffizi in Florence or the Louvre in Paris. Below are a few of the sites that are of particular interest to students of the history of architecture and the visual arts. If you have any suggestions for other locations you've found, email us and we'll add them.
