The City of Chicago has approximately 2.8 million residents,
700
hotels, and more than 7300 restaurants.1
Overwhelmed?
There are many restaurants within two to three blocks of campus
(marked "BSB" on the map below). Most are along Taylor Street and on
Halsted Street. Taylor Street restaurants start at Morgan St. and
Taylor St., then head west, and include Thai, Sandwiches, Burgers,
Bistro, Vegetarian, and Sushi. Halsted, heading north beginning at Van
Buren St., is in Greektown, and so it includes Bistros, Burgers, and
Gyros. Contact the hosts if you want to make lunch or dinner plans.
Here is a Word version of this guide to take along on March 14.
Below are a few of our suggestions, lettered with corresponding
locations on the map. There are many others that we
did not list, so feel free to explore your culinary options.

the neighborhood since 1930, this bright and bustling landmark is one
of the last morsels of the original Little Italy where meals and wine

can be halved to accommodate meatier secondi like crispy lemon chicken,
roasted and buried in a mountain of fried potatoes.”
