AH 110 Art History I

Survey of world art and architecture from prehistoric
times to the end of the Middle Ages. There will be a short quiz in the
second week, two mid-term exams and a final, and a 5–7 page research
paper. The text for this course is Marilyn Stokstad’s Art History.
AH 111 Art History II
Denny

Survey of world art and architecture from the Renaissance to
the present. The text for this course is Marilyn Stokstad’s,
Art History. There will be one mid-term examination and a final. Also
required are a five-page research paper and several short responses to
field trips (paper topics and field trip destinations to be assigned).

Asian Chicago: Constructing
Asian Identities in Chicago

Prerequisite: 3 hours of art history at the 100 level or consent
of the instructor. There will be midterm and a final exam (non-cumulative),
one four-page description of a specific Asian neighborhood in Chicago,
one oral presentation of a reading assignment, and a final paper (10
pages) that is also presented orally in class.

World War II to the Present
