UIC Students Define Neural Engineering

The Spring 2008 BioE 475 class authored a letter in response to a definition of Neural Engineering published in the Journal of Neural Engineering. The letter was recently accepted for publication, and is available at the
Journal of Neural Engineering. The students felt that the definition originally proposed by the Editorial Board could be improved by making it broader, and by removing the word "interdisciplinary", which, they argued, fails to appreciate the distinct intellectual domain of neural engineers. The students also updated the definition on Wikipedia.
