Apply To LEAP
We are seeking outstanding doctoral students to participate in this exciting new program. LEAP Fellows will be selected from qualified Ph.D. students who have been accepted into participating UIC doctoral programs, including, but not limited to, Biology, Civil and Materials Engineering, Earth and Environmental Science, Urban Planning and Policy, and Public Administration and who have research interests consistent with the goals of LEAP. A LEAP fellowship will provide a full stipend ($30,000/yr) and tuition for two years, as well as, research and travel funds for four years. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required for all IGERT fellowships. Fellows will be selected based on student qualifications, relevance of research interests, and balance among participating programs and faculty.
Students interested in LEAP should:
- Apply electronically to the home department of interest via the UIC Graduate School.
In your application, indicate that you would like to be considered for admission to the LEAP IGERT program.
- Review specific departmental requirements on their web sites: Department of Biological Sciences, Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Department of Civil and Materials Engineering, College of Urban Planning and Policy.
- Contact LEAP faculty to discuss your research and program interests.
